Higgs beach-is located between the casa marina resort and white st pier.  It is also a soft sandy beach just a bit smaller, amenities her include public restrooms, pickle ball courts, children’s play spaces, and dog parks.    *free access

South beach-located at the south end of duval this small beach is open to the public and offers chair and umbrella rentals, as well as a restaurant bordering the beach where you may purchase food and drink. this is also a soft sandy beach, however. if the winds are strong the water here can be stirred up and become murky.     *free access

Fort Zachary taylor-Commonly known among locals as “the best beach” This beach offers the most shade as the beach is lined with Australian pines, with your entrance fee you can tour the civil war fort (best Ocean pics on the island!) visit the beach, use the cookout areas the include picnic tables and grills, as well as swim or snorkel and fish. This beach is a mix of sandy and rocky so beach shoes are encoraged.  There are public bathrooms and outdoor showers, as well as a concession stand that sells food and beach supplies.  Beach chair and umbrella rentals are available as well as snorkel kit rentals.  On calm wind days this is a great spot to get used to snorkeling , as you can enter right from the beach, just sit down, put on your gear and glide away!  if you are an experienced snorkeler head towards the rock pile off the beach to spot tropical fish, rays, and maybe even a tarpon! The park also stays open until sunset to allow wonderful pictures and a serene experience.  *$6 per vehicle  $2.50 pp walking\bicycle
